EDAN CX12 Patient Monitor
EDAN CX12 Patient Monitor
The EDAN CX12 is the 13.3-inch mid-tier model in EDAN’s CX series of multi-parameter patient monitors—positioned between the compact CX10 (10.1-inch) and the larger CX15 (15.6-inch). It shares the same monitoring platform and interface logic as its siblings but adds a Full HD display, 2-channel temperature as standard, and the optional hemodynamic and gas parameters that higher-acuity departments require.
Standard parameters on the CX12 include 3/5-lead ECG, RESP, EDAN SpO₂, EDAN NIBP, PR, and 2-channel TEMP (T1/T2) , running on EDAN’s iSEAP™ ECG, iFAST™ NIBP, iCUFS™ NIBP, and iMAT™ SpO₂ algorithms. The 13.3-inch Full HD touchscreen (1920 × 1080) supports gesture operation, supplemented by a rotary knob for alternative control. A fanless cooling design reduces power consumption and dust accumulation, and the enclosure is compatible with up to 31 common medical disinfectants.
For expansion, the CX12 accepts optional 6/12-lead ECG, 2-channel IBP, EDAN G2 sidestream CO₂ (with iCARB™ algorithm), cardiac output (C.O.), a thermal printer, built-in Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi 6), and HDMI. The FDA-cleared indications cover monitoring, storing, recording, and reviewing of ECG, RESP, TEMP, SpO₂, PR, NIBP, IBP, CO₂, and C.O. in adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients; arrhythmia detection, ST segment analysis, and C.O. are indicated for adult patients specifically.
Data management covers 1,200 NIBP records, 48 hours of 1-second trend data (or 240 hours at 1-minute resolution), 1,000 alarm events, and 48 hours of full-disclosure waveforms. The CX12 is built for departments that need a larger display and a broader optional parameter set than the CX10, without moving to the CX15 footprint—the same algorithms, accessories ecosystem, and no-fan architecture, scaled to a 13.3-inch enclosure.
Key Features & Benefits
13.3-Inch Full HD Touchscreen with Rotary Knob
The 13.3-inch color TFT touchscreen delivers 1920 × 1080 resolution, providing a larger viewing area for multi-waveform and multi-parameter display than the CX10’s 10.1-inch screen. Gesture operation supports direct interaction with displayed parameters and menus, while the rotary knob offers an alternative physical control. Large font, trend, OxyCRG, and full ECG display modes let the clinical team prioritize numerics, waveforms, or historical data depending on the task.
No-Fan Design with Broad Disinfectant Compatibility
The fanless architecture eliminates operating noise and prevents dust from accumulating on internal fan blades and grilles, supporting lower power consumption and reduced dust-related maintenance needs. The enclosure is designed to withstand up to 31 common medical disinfectants, supporting routine wipe-down protocols between patients in wards and isolation areas.
iSEAP™ ECG with SEMIP™ Analysis
The iSEAP™ ECG algorithm detects up to 33 arrhythmia types and incorporates SEMIP™ analysis validated by the CSE, MIT, and AHA databases, per EDAN’s product literature. Multi-level analysis is designed to improve cardiac sensitivity while reducing false alarms. Standard 3/5-lead ECG is expandable to 6/12-lead for broader cardiac evaluation.
iFAST™ NIBP: Measurement in Approximately 15 Seconds
The iFAST™ algorithm is designed to complete blood pressure measurement in approximately 15 seconds, reducing cuff inflation time during rounds. The iCUFS™ algorithm manages smart adaptive cuff inflation and deflation with cuff size identification and is indicated for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
iMAT™ SpO₂ with Motion and Low-Perfusion Performance
EDAN’s iMAT™ SpO₂ algorithm is engineered for motion resistance and low-perfusion performance, with a Perfusion Index (PI) reference reading that reflects perfusion changes at the sensor site. The CX12 supports simultaneous SpO₂ and NIBP measurement on the same limb, which can simplify setup when access sites are limited.
Optional 2-Channel IBP and Cardiac Output
The CX12 supports optional 2-channel invasive blood pressure (IBP) and cardiac output (C.O.) via thermodilution. IBP transducer interface cables are available for BD, Edwards, Hospira/Abbott, Utah, and B.Braun systems, and disposable transducer kits are offered from compatible vendors. C.O. is indicated for adult patients and requires the appropriate catheter and injection temperature probe accessories.
Optional EDAN G2 Sidestream CO₂ with iCARB™
When configured with the EDAN G2 CO₂ module, the CX12 adds sidestream capnography with the iCARB™ algorithm for intelligent CO₂ pseudo-wave identification, a water trap design, and a sampling rate as low as 50 mL/min. Disposable sampling lines and nasal cannulas are available for adult, pediatric, and neonatal configurations.
Data Review, Connectivity, and Night Mode
The CX12 stores 1,200 NIBP records, 48 hours of 1-second trend data (or 240 hours at 1-minute resolution), 1,000 alarm events, and 48 hours of full-disclosure waveforms. Wi-Fi 6, HDMI, and a multifunction interface (nurse call, analog output, defibrillator synchronization) support integration with central monitoring stations and hospital networks. Night mode dims the display for low-light environments, and the optional thermal printer supports hard-copy documentation.
