Tri‑Angle Semiconductor Laser Technology for Superior WBC Differentiation

The H80S utilizes tri‑angle semiconductor laser flow cytometry for WBC, DIFF, and BASO counting. Three different angle scatters reflect comprehensive information about cells:

  • Low scatter (LS, <10°) – reflects cell volume

  • Middle scatter (MS, 10°–20°) – reflects cell complexity

  • High scatter (HS, >20°) – reflects cell granularity

This three‑angle approach provides detailed information on cell size, complexity, and granularity, improving separation of WBC subpopulations and enhancing detection in abnormal or aging samples.

Dedicated BASO Channel for Accurate Basophil Counting

Basophils are the least numerous cells and are easily masked by other cell clusters, making them the most difficult to detect. The H80S features dedicated baths and channels to accurately detect basophils. Cell volume and cell complexity are obtained on the specific basophil scattergram, reducing masking from other cell clusters and ensuring accurate basophil counts.

NRBC Flagging with Quantification

Nucleated red blood cells (NRBCs) are similar in size to lymphocytes, often leading to misidentification and erroneous WBC and lymphocyte counts. The H80S automatically flags and quantifies NRBCs, preventing falsely elevated WBC and lymphocyte counts caused by undetected NRBCs.

High Eosinophilia Performance

Eosinophils are significantly elevated during bacterial or parasitic infections. Combined with laser technology and 3D scattergrams, the H80S can easily handle high eosinophilic samples. Laser scatter and 3D scattergrams allow precise differentiation of eosinophils, especially in samples with parasitic or bacterial infections.

3D & 2D Scattergram Analysis for Enhanced Visualization

The H80S provides 1 three‑dimensional scattergram (DIFF) and 4 two‑dimensional scattergrams (3× DIFF, 1× BASO). The rotating 3D scattergram facilitates observation of each cell cluster, making results more reliable for both normal and abnormal samples. In abnormal and aging samples, eosinophils are often obscured by other normal cells—by using MS in conjunction with HS to observe contents, granularities, and nuclei, the 3D scattergram can more accurately differentiate eosinophils.
