The EDAN iM3s is a pocket-sized vital signs monitor built for fast, convenient spot checks and daily ward rounds. Weighing just over 300g with a 5-inch capacitive touch screen, it is one of the most compact monitors in its class—small enough to carry in a pocket yet powerful enough to capture essential vitals in a single, streamlined workflow.

The iM3s integrates SpO₂, NIBP, and optional temperature measurement into one handheld device, with all results displayed on the same screen and automatically saved to built-in non-volatile memory. With Wi-Fi connectivity, e-Link wireless support, and an optional tabletop charging dock, the iM3s scales effortlessly from bedside spot checks to centralized data management through your hospital information system.

Key Features & Benefits

True Pocket-Size Portability

The iM3s is designed for clinicians who are constantly on the move:

  • Lightweight design – weighs just over 300g, making it one of the smallest vital signs monitors available

  • One-handed operation – the 5-inch capacitive touch screen and gesture operation allow comfortable single-hand use during patient assessments

  • Shock resistance up to 1 meter – survives accidental drops without interrupting operation

  • IP44 water and dust protection – suitable for use in busy clinical environments, including rainy weather and dusty conditions

Comprehensive Vital Signs Monitoring

The iM3s captures all essential vitals in one test:

Parameter Description
SpO₂ Non-invasive oxygen saturation with pulse rate
NIBP Non-invasive blood pressure with oscillometric measurement
PR Pulse rate
TEMP Optional temperature measurement (multiple sensor options available)

Adult, pediatric, and neonatal settings are supported, ensuring accurate readings across patient populations. The F3000 Quick TEMP module is not intended for neonates.

Large Internal Storage & Data Management

  • 20,000+ readings stored internally for retrospective review

  • Non-volatile memory ensures data integrity even when powered off

  • Automatic saving after each test eliminates manual data entry

  • Bi-directional HIS/EMR connectivity allows seamless transfer of patient data

  • MFM-CMS compatibility for centralized monitoring and data management

Two Adaptive Work Modes

Mode Best For Features
Round Mode Daily ward rounds Color-coded patient list, preset resident names and room numbers, upload data via Wi-Fi to EMR, up to 1,000 names can be added at once
Spot Mode Quick spot checks Real-time vitals display, no alarm interruption

Flexible Tabletop Expansion

Plugging the iM3s into an optional tabletop dock unlocks additional capabilities:

  • AC charging – keep the device powered during extended use

  • Optional thermal recorder – generate hard-copy records on the spot

  • Optional temperature measurements – including Exergen temporal artery temperature (TAT-5000S) and Covidien Quick TEMP (F3000)

  • USB port and RJ45 port on the CS-05 charger stand for wired connectivity

Robust Connectivity

  • Built-in Wi-Fi (2.4G/5G Hz) – connect to MFM-CMS or HIS/EMR systems

  • e-Link wireless connection – seamless integration with compatible hospital systems

  • Bluetooth Low Energy 4.0 – additional wireless connectivity option

  • VitalsXChange integration – supports Point Click Care connectivity

Optional Barcode Scanner
