Product Overview

Global Healthcare Medical GHM Gastrointestinal US Gastrointestinal Disease Rapid Test (FIA) is a fluorescence immunoassay (FIA) designed for the qualitative and quantitative detection of gastrointestinal disease biomarkers and pathogens in human stool specimens. The test is used as an aid in the diagnosis of gastrointestinal infections and conditions, including bacterial and viral gastroenteritis, Helicobacter pylori infection, and gastrointestinal bleeding. Gastrointestinal infections remain a significant global health burden, and rapid antigen detection methods have become increasingly important for timely diagnosis and patient management.

The GHM Gastrointestinal US is intended for use with the FIA Analyzer (VIM01), a compact benchtop analyzer that utilizes fluorescence immunochromatography technology. The analyzer features auto calibration, barcode identification, and a built-in memory capacity of 50,000 results. The analyzer delivers reliable results in 10 ± 5 seconds after the test device is inserted.

The system is designed for professional use in clinical laboratories, hospitals, and clinics. The FIA analyzer operates with a small sample volume and provides fast, reliable results with simple operation.

This product is for in vitro diagnostic use only. For professional use only.

Key Features & Benefits

Multiplex Gastrointestinal Pathogen Detection – Comprehensive Differential Assessment

The GHM Gastrointestinal US delivers qualitative and quantitative results for multiple gastrointestinal biomarkers and pathogens from a single stool specimen. This multiplex panel approach enables simultaneous detection and differentiation of viral, bacterial, and parasitic gastrointestinal pathogens, as well as biomarkers of intestinal inflammation and gastrointestinal bleeding, supporting timely clinical decision-making. Rapid diagnostic tests for gastrointestinal pathogens, including norovirus, rotavirus, and adenovirus, are available individually or in combination.

Feature Benefit
Multiplex panel Simultaneous detection of multiple GI pathogens and biomarkers
Single specimen One stool sample for all test items
Intended use Aid in diagnosis of gastrointestinal infections and conditions
Test time 10 – 15 minutes
Clinical utility Supports differentiation between viral, bacterial, and parasitic GI infections
Flexible combination Multiple test items can be combined for customized panels

Comprehensive Test Menu – Broad Pathogen and Biomarker Coverage

The GHM Gastrointestinal US supports detection of a comprehensive panel of gastrointestinal disease pathogens and biomarkers, providing broad coverage for clinical gastroenterology and infectious disease testing needs.

Pathogen/Biomarker Category Test Items
Viral Pathogens Rotavirus, Norovirus GI/GII, Adenovirus, Astrovirus
Bacterial Pathogens Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), Clostridium difficile (C. difficile) Toxin A/B, Campylobacter, Salmonella, Shigella
Parasitic Pathogens Giardia lamblia, Cryptosporidium, Entamoeba histolytica
GI Biomarkers Fecal Occult Blood (FOB), Fecal Calprotectin, Fecal Lactoferrin, Transferrin

Multiple panel configurations available. Contact Global Healthcare Medical for the complete test menu and panel customization options.

Sandwich Immunodetection Method – Fluorescence Immunoassay Principle

The GHM Gastrointestinal US uses a sandwich immunodetection method. When the sample is added to the sample well of the test device, fluorescence-labeled detector antibodies bind to target gastrointestinal pathogen antigens or biomarkers in the sample. As the sample mixture migrates on the nitrocellulose matrix of the test strip by capillary action, the complexes of detector antibody and target are captured by immobilized capture antibodies at specific test lines on the strip. Thus, the more target antigen or biomarker in the specimen, the more complexes accumulate on the test strip. The signal intensity of the fluorescent signal reflects the amount of target captured, and the FIA Analyzer displays the test result. Fluorescent immunoassay systems for stool specimen testing have demonstrated high sensitivity and specificity for gastrointestinal pathogen detection, with results showing high consistency with reference methods.

Feature Benefit
Sandwich immunodetection Reliable measurement principle
Fluorescence signal Clear positive/negative or quantitative determination
Test strip technology Pathogen-specific antibodies at test lines; control line verification
Objective results Results interpreted automatically by analyzer
Small sample volume Minimizes specimen requirements
