Global Healthcare Medical GHM Vector US Vector Borne Disease Rapid Test (FIA) is a fluorescence immunoassay (FIA) designed for the qualitative and differential detection of multiple vector-borne disease pathogens from human whole blood, serum, or plasma samples. Vector-borne diseases are infections transmitted by the bite of infected arthropod species, such as mosquitoes, ticks, and sandflies. The test is used as an aid in the diagnosis of vector-borne infections, including dengue, malaria, Zika, and chikungunya.

The GHM Vector US is intended for use with the FIA Analyzer (VIM01), a compact benchtop analyzer that utilizes fluorescence immunochromatography technology. The analyzer features auto calibration, barcode identification, and a built-in memory capacity of 50,000 results. The analyzer delivers reliable results in 10 ± 5 seconds after the test device is inserted.

Sandwich Immunodetection Method – Fluorescence Immunoassay Principle

The GHM Vector US uses a sandwich immunodetection method. When the sample is added to the sample well of the test device, fluorescence-labeled detector antibodies bind to target vector-borne pathogen antigens or antibodies in the sample. As the sample mixture migrates on the nitrocellulose matrix of the test strip by capillary action, the complexes of detector antibody and target are captured by immobilized capture antibodies at specific test lines on the strip. Thus, the more target antigen or antibody in the specimen, the more complexes accumulate on the test strip. The signal intensity of the fluorescent signal reflects the amount of target captured, and the FIA Analyzer displays the qualitative test result.
